Autumn Foliage Nails: My Love Letter to the Season

As the crispness in the air settles in and the days grow deliciously shorter, I find myself enchanted all over again by the drama of fall foliage.

Autumn is more than a backdrop; it’s a mood, a feeling, and a palette. It’s mesmerising to watch leaves morph from lush greens to deep russet, burnished copper, and fiery orangeβ€”a fleeting spectacle that feels both nostalgic and exhilarating. Inspired by walks through crunchy leaves, maple trees ablaze, and sunsets that set the sky on fire, these nails are my ode to the season's comforts and colours.

I wanted my nails to echo all those cosy, vibrant vibes in a personal tribute to sweater weather and endless cups of tea. I leaned into a mix of metallic coppers and rich, burnt oranges that mirror the season’s signature shades. Nails are a glossy pumpkin orange, some veined with a tinge of green and bronze, just like the leaves that are slowly turning but haven’t quite gotten there yet. The bronze chrome powder rubbed on top gives a dazzling mirror-like finish, which, with added flecks of gold leaf, ensures the set catches the light whichever way you turn. The colours I opted for were fiery, though you could easily tamp them down with more muted shades for a similar effect.

There’s a beauty in transition, but if I could bottle up the golden hour glow and the magic of falling leaves onto my fingertips, maybe I’d carry autumn with me wherever I go.
