Rainbow Dreams: The Summer Aura Edit

Summer always feels like a fresh canvas, and after months of muted tones, I am finally craving a burst of high-energy colour.

This season, I wanted to put a sophisticated spin on the aura nail trend dominating our feeds. While the original concept draws on the spiritual energy fieldβ€”a hazy, diffuse glow centred on the nailβ€”I decided to marry it with the blush-nail aesthetic trending in Korea. It is the perfect intersection of spiritual mischief and quiet luxury, blending a vibrant rainbow spectrum with a soft, ethereal radiance that feels both modern and nostalgic.

To achieve this airbrushed finish, start with a semi-sheer, neutral base to ensure the colours appear to glow from within rather than sitting flat on top. Using a palette of lavender, lemon, sky blue, apple green, and peachy pink, each nail becomes its own soft-focus daydream. If you are DIY-ing this, skip the precision and embrace the sponge; dabbing the pigment in circular motions creates that signature blurred halo.

For a more editorial edge, you could swap the pastels for a monochromatic "sunset aura" using varying depths of orange and red, or even add a chrome topper for a futuristic, glazed finish. It is essentially the grown-up version of the mood rings we cherished as teenagers, only far more chic and significantly more reliable. It is time to carry a little bit of sunshine (and perhaps a better frequency) right at your fingertips.
