Gingham Dress: Rustic and Ready for Spring

I’m surprised this is the first time I’m writing about a H&M piece I’m head over heels with! I know people are critical of their quality, but I’ve found myself increasingly drawn to them over the last couple of years. You just have to be patient until you get really good finds — like this one-piece made from organic cotton (what?) that doesn’t break the bank.

I love that it comes with a mandarin collar, mid-length bishop sleeves and a darted bodice that is really comfortable to wear. It’s a very conservative silhouette, but the navy and beige gingham elevates the look with farmhouse rustic vibes. I imagine it would go well with white sneakers or espadrilles in warmer months, maybe even a wicker basket or rattan bag!

Side note: Did you note that the name “gingham” came from the Malay word “genggang” meaning striped?

I’m more a fan of gold accessories because it tends to bring out the warmth in my skin (and it’s easier to mix and match when you focus on one hardware). But once in a while when I do want to go for a subtle polished look, this is pretty much the combination.
